Views about 'Tech product Introduction is weak among Indians'
Because of attrition, Indian IT industry has shortage of SMEs/domain experts. Countries like Germany/Japan with a concept of lifetime employment have their products as best in market worldwide it a automobile or electronic gadget.
Second reason is: Taking ownership of work that we handle is a must to develop product. I am not raising a finger on our capabilities but this "Chalta hai" attitude still dominates our society and is still pulling us back.
Challenges faced in job
I have worked mostly with Japanese people and their honest commitment to work and consistency is really appreciable. I am growing as a professional learning how technology is helping us achieve a better life for us and next generation.
My important career decision
Its not one or two decisions which can actually change your whole career but you have to think every time where you are going and keep track of it. Choosing a path which you think you already have skills for and strive to be the best in that is my mantra. As for your question, learning a foreign language and coming to requirement engineering from a development background gave me a direction.
My role model
Sachin Tendulkar: because of his consistent journey and patience he shows even in difficult situations.
Family Background
Father: govt employee
Mother: Housewife
Brother: Studying
Goals and Ambitions
Being in tech field for almost 5 yrs now:
Keep a balance of my professional and personal life focusing on improving both.
Sharpen my skills to have expertise in my area.
Company and job profile
Working with HCL Technologies from past 5 yrs. Worked at different locations like Noida, Bangalore, Japan etc, mostly on consumer products like DTV and Smartphones.
Managing professional as well as personal life
Rise early, work with passion, leave your desk on time. Make peace with your work and it will let you enjoy life peacefully.
My advice
Just go with the flow and learn and enjoy whatever work comes your way....you are too young to decide what is right for you.
Books recommended
register and follow SiliconIndia daily dose, read newspapers to have technology awareness. Rest is your C/C++ or Java or anything.
Being different
If we notice, every other man out there is an engineer. Even a doctor is an engineer-whose expertise is a machine called human being. Thinking analytically to create something new to make our life better-be it a pulley or some rocket.
