Brief description about me
I am Rahul Rathore, a Civil Engineer and presently working in field of renewable energy. To be precise with Solar Power Plants. After completing my undergraduate course, it had been 18 months of experience in constructing Solar power plants & Executing Real Time Fast-Track projects. Inducted as a Trainee in my present organization, I was promoted early to a managerial position than other trainees. Presently I lead a Team of 15 employees taking care of 3 packages and we altogether are working for Largest Solar Power Plant In the Country.

Challenges in job
Out of all the Idioms that proved to be indisputably  true, one which proved itself again and again is " Too many men, Too Many Minds."

In a brief experience of 18 months, I have so far completed 3 Power Plant projects and presently working on 4th. When executing a real-time fast-track projects, there are so many parallel activities involved and taking place, sometime it becomes impossible to track it yourself & have to rely on inputs by other departments or agencies. Such situations if not carefully spotted and pulled up together, will result in all the things falling apart. with sole reason of either Lack of decision making, competence, inability to express their idea or to understand others.

For something as small as this, a manager cant let the assignment suffer, Hence thinking of steps ahead, and already predicting mistakes subordinates might do and intimating them in advance, both saves the project and keeps faith of subordinates in their Manager Intact.

So far I have applied this principle and I am leading my team through the storms.
Job made easy
One must accept and adjust according to the roles and responsibilities. But roles and responsibilities are divided based on expertise, talent & acumen.
Unless the Team acknowledges you as their leader or team member, not only the individual, even the team will not function properly.

My confidence in my action and guiding my subordinates when they are facing difficulties let me gain their faith and makes my job easier. I get acceptance rather to explain my actions everytime.

Upcoming Trends
Solar Power is as lucrative as it appears in text books. Though I had been advised to leave the field and to get involved  with much complex thermal projects but I hold my belief that the field is a Dark horse and is real game changer. The only disadvantage that had been holding us back was higher price of the equipments. But with shrinking world and mixing economies, these walls of Troy doesn't exists any more.

My point of view
Its pure case of poor conversation rate. Had Invention been a sport then Indians would have been best in breaking any defense line but when it comes to score, we shoot off target. We do create good engineers but when it comes to convert those engineers into creators, we end up making them professionals. Down the line we have left quality somewhere far behind and are only obsessed with the greens. Rather its not just the trend and what we call "Brain Drain", its a scam, a strategy employed by competitors and can be better called as "Brain Gain."

My goal
Learning is a life long process and a man never stops learning about his true self. In past few years I have discovered myself as a analytic and a critic. Optimizing from a skill became an obsession. In next five years I would like to optimize my way of learning. I would like to once again enroll for higher education, competing against brighter intellectual to first satisfy my hunger for knowledge and then to apply it in a start-up of mine.

Family background
My Father is a Power Engineer (Turbine Expert) & my Mother is an Paint Artist. My only sister works independently for government health programmes.

Advice to professionals
Solar Industry is less about application of engineering and more about the economics. So my advice to a newbie would be to either be in a lab, actually conducting experiments or develop yourself as a quick and accurate decision maker as you can beat your record of building a project better and faster again and again.

Advice to students
Utilization of Resources.

Nothing in this world comes for free. My Alma Mater is a great institute and is very generous in providing all best sources of knowledge. Had I used those resources properly for which i starve now ever day, things would have been definitely different.
