Family Background
I come from a technocommercial family of service class father & home maker mother, being eldest among 3- sons I was trained to be a role model for my youngers.
Professional Strengths:
Managing Brand right from the inception through its maintenance of its matured stage, marketing communications, Operations management & Negotiations.
Other Thoughts:
Somewhere some of my desires got suppressed due to which I picked up engar on my way. But thanks to my wife & my brothers with their continouse feedbacks I have managed to win over my anger & try to learn ' letting go' attitude in my life.
Degrees That Matter:
PPM if someone has been or wish to get into project management as his/her career. Since going forward every job would be project based and professionals would be judged on their skill sets of managing projects efficiently.
Working Life Management:
I dont carry office to home neither Home to office. and follow the principal of finishing tasks in hand efficiently to avoid late sittings thereby creating a balance between both of my roles. Try to follow decipline of work & mandatory routine of health & work to the maximum extent where it becomes un avoidable due to factors beyond my control.
Career Profile:
My current role is with a start-up company which is embarking into telecommunication industry to cater a nich and most exiting & profitable market segment i.e. enterprise. In my previous role I had been managing retail products or consumer product segment for its go to market strategy formulations, executions whereas here the challenge is to prepare launch pad for the company's solutions & offerings into B2B or B2G segment.
Role Model:
I had many bosses in my professional journey so far, but remember 2- of them and try to follow them wherever it is possible. Both of them being extremely opposite to each other in their temperament but knowledgeable in their respective fields. I learnt patience from one and the controlled aggression from the other.
Job Profile:
As mentioned before, my role is to formulate solution & service offerings to the enterprise clients, systems, procedures & policy formulation, demand creation & managing accounts would be main areas of my services. My job is to assist CEO & COO for the revenue stream and manage top line earnings for the company.
Changes In The Professional Environment:
I think at the onset I was fortunate to receive tough environment demanding higher commitment levels & thereby giving much more opportunities to learn while growing. These days I see youth running after money more than rich experience or learning roles. More often I have witnessed self marketing has taken up place of skill based, actual performance based growth. Managing your boss has taken up the place of managing your job well.
Done Differently:
Certainely, having learned out of my own experiences if I am given a chance to start up again I would put all my efforts to avoid mistakes I made knowingly / unknowingly. And follow the current to be successful.
The Journey So Far:
It has been great so far & looks forward to the challenging one too, because I like to see myself pushing to the extreme limits. Because anything lesser than the challenging assignment brings boredom to me & I would prefer to be aborting out of the place or situation which does not give me kick on my back to attain new heights with perfection.
The Decisions That Matter
Migration from FMCg to advertising world and then moving back to the client's side following the market demand and movements. Another set of decisions in my professional career has been moving to African markets twice in my life with different start ups in either sides of the continent. In both the time I had gained a lot in experience & knowledge.
Involvement in the Industry
In telecom industry Launching Brands and re-launch of the mother brand in African environment managing agencies, publications, editors, production crew & various stake holders besides managing the management & board expectations been my biggest achievement. As a result I had bagged various awards for my initiatives nationally & internationally. Second, during my advertisement stint where working with India's biggest business house Reliance and managing their project based advertising campaigns for their flagship garment brand & furnishing brand has been a rich experience so far of my life. In both these cases reporting to the TOP bosses of the business house was crucial to any professional.
Prized Accomplishment(s):
Worked in environments which could have made me currupt but I could manage to retain my self respect and have carried honesty to my job , company & my seniors. And I am proud of what I have gained out of my hardships.
Plans For The Future:
I see myself managing a Small business enterprise for the self or for others in next 2 – 3 years from now, following a progressive trajectory and from there retiring from professional life at the end of my 55 years. And then spending rest of my life sharing knowledge I have gathered with those who are needy alongside doing farming in the upcountry.
