Although the basics remain the same but technology is slowly taking over with Micro fiber clothes replacing regular dusters, enzyme based cleaning agents replacing regular cleaners, ipads replacing paper checklists, etc. Also micro chips in linen which automatically generates data of number of washes done, discarding levels, load count, exchange count and many other features.In the service aspect hotels have realized the role of floor housekeepers as their brand ambassadors and empasis is now being given on proper and regular training of the so called “bunch of cleaners”.As the new generation of housekeepers are more tech savy, they ensure that they are abreast with the latest technology and processes, so that they can deliver an enriching experience for not just their external customers but for their internal customers too.
Watching New Technological Trends
a) Cloud computing and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).b) Near or real time BI analytics is a baseline expectation.This would ensure updated information with the housekeepers at any given point in time.

There is tremendous potential in this segment all you need to ensure is that you keep yourself updated with the latest trends and offer a solution which adapts itself with the customers needs.
