Thoughts on the teaching style.
We may use different teaching styles depending on the class of students we are addressing, but one basic principle/ approach that applies universally is actively engaging students inside as well as outside the classroom. I have been using different methods and a mix of lecturing, class discussions, hands – on-experience in form of project work. As far as project work is concerned the institute has attempted to institutionalize the process of offering hands-on-experience through arrangement of live – projects from different companies. Also, at the post-graduate level the main focus is to incorporate critical thinking amongst the students which would gradually build an ability to solve problems more effectively. Also, my experience so far tells me that inviting transparent feedback from class on content and pedagogy has always helped in improving the effectiveness of teaching-learning process.
Thoughts on the teaching style.
Yes, definitely you improve with time, as well as you change the method of teaching based on the quality of students in class. While teaching at Masters level, teaching involves an appropriate mix of lecturing, case -discussions and hands-on-experience, but when teaching to working executives the method/ style would definitely undergo a change.
