About Devi Prasad Nigam
After graduating from Indian IIT, Kanpur in Civil Engineering and specialising in Geotech. Engineering from IIT, Roorkee I had joined the Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh. Here I have worked in various capacities for the last 35 years in the fields of Investigation & Planning of small and large projects, Maintenance and Construction of Canals, Dams and Head works of pump-canals including about 10 years stint with a Rs. 6000 crore World Bank funded project.
During my work I have constantly upgraded my knowledge and managerial skills by obtaining world class trainings from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, ASCI Hyderabad, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Indian Society for training and Development, New Delhi etc. This, I have harnessed in bringing in innovative practices in my work, whether it by way of introducing guidelines for the Flood Protection Works, introduction of Water Users Association in Managing the canals, developing training Policy/Strategies for about 60000 Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department personnel
