During this period-
1)I have participated (hands on) in the
15th Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Workshop at Seth G. S.
Medical College & K. E. M. Hospital and P. D. Hinduja National
Hospital & Medical Research Centre, Mumbai, in September
2006, 2)I have taken and conducted innumerable teaching classes
(including scheduled theoretical lectures, clinical OPD classes,
bedside ward teachings, seminars, case presentations, journal
clubs etc.) for the undergraduate, post-graduate & DALSP
trainees, 3)I have written many original research papers, among
these- “Effects of irradiation on nasal mucociliary clearance
in head and neck cancer patients” was published in Indian
Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery – Jan-Mar
2006; 58 (1): 46-50, “Our experiences with functional
endoscopic sinus surgery- a preliminary report” was published
in Asian Journal of Ear, Nose and Throat – Apr-Jun 2006; 4 (2):
30-37 and “An unusual complication of CSOM — Lateral sinus
thrombosis with lung abscess: A clinicoradiological study” was
published in Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck
Surgery – Oct-Dec 2007; 59 (4): 349-52. Many more of my
original research papers are waiting to be published in various
national journals. 4)I have also been proven to be a fine
clinician and a level headed administrative personnel, 5)I have
performed all kinds of conventional (eg. Total maxillectomy with
orbital exenteration, Total laryngectomy, Total thyroidectomy,
Parapharyngeal tumour excision, All types of Neck Dissection),
endoscopic (eg. FESS, Medial Orbital decompression, CSF leak
repair, Bronchoscopic procedures), micro-ear (eg. Stapedotomy,
Ossiculoplasty, Intact bridge mastoidectomy, Facial nerve
decompression), micro-laryngeal, facio-maxillary (eg. Repair of
facio-maxillary fractures, Hemimandibulectomy followed by
reconstruction by rib graft, Commando operation), and plastic
(eg. Rhinoplasty, Forehead flap, Buccal flap, Delto-Pectoral
flap, Skin grafting, Tracheoplasty) otorhinolaryngological
surgeries with success, 6)I was selected as a ‘Peer
Reviewer’ for ‘Archives of Otolaryngology and Head Neck
Surgery’, an esteemed American ENT Journal and received a
Certificate of CME Credit for Manuscript Review from American
Medical Association (AMA), 7)I have participated in the Health
Camp organized by the Golgram Municipal Society and the
Government of West Bengal at Golgram, West Midnapore in February
2007 on the behalf of Department of E.N.T., Medical College and
Hospital, Kolkata and 8)I have also participated in the Special
Medical Board for examining and issuing disability certificates
organized by the Government of West Bengal at Milan Mela, Park
Circus Maidan, Kolkata in January 2008 on the behalf of
Department of E.N.T., Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.
