Which is the latest version of JDK and Netbeans to install?

Hi All,

I have just started my java course. As per the video in introduction section, the version of JDK is 6 with update 17 and that of NetBeans is 6.7.1.
But I believe there are latest versions of both are available. So which versions shall I download to install?

Any help is highly appreciable.

Here no restiction for installing.

You can jdk 6 or jdk 7 and NetBeans also you can take NetBeans7.
