Wanted to know if higher Keyword density is better or lower?

I am assuming higher the better? is this correct..

Hi Sikandar,

google is giving the priority of higher keyword density but density should be not more than 4-5 %.if you will increase the unnecessary keyword density than google will never consider the importance of that page.

Actually I saw a few clips on you tube and understand now.It shouldn't be too much or Google will rate in down and it shouldn't be to less either. There is no set percentage but as a rule of thumb it shouldn't be more than 7% max.
