Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, Indias G20 Theme, Gains Support of G7 Business Groups

With sustainability in growth and a protective environment emerging as a monumental focus for G7, these nations are extending their support for India’s G20 theme, One Earth One Family One Future.

Famous business executives from G7 nations are endorsing the G20 theme of India–One Earth, One Family, One Future–in achieving sustainable growth that is increasingly compatible with the protection of the environment globally.

Proposed by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2022, the theme Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is drawn from the ancient Sanskrit text of the Maha Upanishad. It poses a major affirmation of the value of all life, be they human, animal, plant, or microorganisms, discussing their interconnectedness on the planet Earth and in the wider universe.

On account of the G7 summit, which is anticipated to take place next month in Japan, representative business federations of the G7 and the European Union, recently, have held the B7 Tokyo Summit. The B7 passed a note post two horizontal days of brainstorming sessions that creating a problem-solving society with equipped digital technology, creativity, and imagination of diverse people aim to achieve sustainable growth with proven compatibility for the protection of the global environment.

India has assumed the Presidency of the G20 for one whole annual period, December 1st, 2022-30th November 2023. The G20 summit is expected to be held on 9-10th of September in New Delhi. India is hosting nearly 200 G20 events in over 50 cities all across the nation.

Led by the US Chamber of Commerce, the American delegation at the B7 summit was represented by its top leaders. The Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida met the group and promised usage of the input from B7 to prepare for the G7 Summit that will take place in May. The B7 was initially hosted by Japan Business Federation in Tokyo, agreeing on the most important efforts over the mitigation of critical long-term challenges.

The approach aims at advising governments on removing barriers to international trade and investment in an effort to take the form of a G7 Trade Club that is highly open to nations and committed to high standards of free trade. This grouping effort aims to overcome protectionist pressures and combat economic coercion, directed against its very members and allies, like the contemplation by the G7 Foreign Ministers. The B7 declaration has subtly opposed the usage of nuclear weapons in due course to political conflicts between nations globally.
