Kevin Thomas Declares His Congressional Run
An Indian-American New York State Senator Kevin Thomas has announced his contest in the Congressional run.
Indian-American New York State Senator Kevin Thomas has announced a final statement over his contest in the upcoming election for New York’s Fourth Congressional District. He will be a representative candidate of the Democrats.
He took his social media post to express his firm determination to contest the election, stating his achievements in defeating a Republican candidate in 2018. Ensuring to restore the same governance as how it remained during his term, he promises a violence-free and rights-outspoken democracy in the region. Thomas also assures to stop property tax hikes, and clean up drinking water, in addition to guaranteeing the right to an abortion under New York law. He will be entering a crowded 2024 Democratic primary for New York’s fourth district, alongside several other candidates like Lawrence Henry, Sarah Hughes, Gian Jones, and Patricia Maher.
The fourth district is considered to be one of the wealthiest congressional districts in the country, covering central and southern Nassau County.
Thomas is currently serving as the Assistant Majority Leader in the State Senate, and a Chairman of the Consumer Protection Committee. Prior to this, he served as an appointee of the US Commission on Civil Rights to the New York State Advisory Committee. Thomas immigrated to the US from Dubai when he was about 10 years old along with his parents, whose roots are from Pathanamthitta, Kerala.
