Heights of Worship: People named after Rajesh Khanna

People of 60’s and 70’s loved Khanna’s charismatic style, screen presence and mesmerizing smile so much that they ended up naming their sons after this legendary hero. ‘’During the 70's and early 80's Rajesh Khanna had a lot of female following and one of them is my Mom. When I was born in 82, guess what, my name turned out to be Rajesh (thank god not khanna ). My uncle says there is a strong coincidence that my mom decided my name, and I still today have fun conversations around that’’, says Rajesh Segu .

Rajesh Kota, an IT Professionalfrom New Jersey has a similar story. ‘’Well, being born around the time he was the first/reigning superstar, my parents named me after him. It was always a pleasure to watch his movies, for he always seemed to be at ease, especially in those romantic roles.  Growing older I realize the value that kind of "ease" helps with in daily life and glad that his movies, which will always live forever, will be there for me/people to learn from.  He scaled the peaks and then lived a normal and decent life, which is more than what a common man would ask for.  Watching his movies will always bring a smile to any face.  He is part of many many happy memories that people from that generation have, and that's no small achievement.  Hopefully he had no regrets, cause I for sure have none as far as his craft of acting/movie making is concerned.’’
