Indian American Raj Subramaniam Awarded with Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award

Raj Subramaniam, Indian-American CEO of FedEx, was awarded Pravasi Bharatiya Samman.
FREMONT, CA: Indian-American Raj Subramaniam, CEO of FedEx, has been honored with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award. This award recognizes the outstanding contributions of awardees in fostering a better understanding of India, supporting India's causes and concerns, and strengthening the connections between India, the overseas Indian community, and their countries of residence.
Subramaniam was born on September 14, 1967, in Trivandrum, Kerala, and attended Loyola School in Trivandrum. His academic journey was further pursued in the SIES Group of Institutions in Bombay, IIT Bombay, and Syracuse University in New York. He earned his MS in Chemical Engineering and holds a master’s degree in business administration.
His wife, Uma Subramaniam, works along with him at FedEx, contributing to the company’s success. His son, Arjun Rajesh, also serves under the e-commerce division of FedEx, with Subramaniam’s brother serving in another indispensable role in the company. His roots trace back to a family in distinguished careers, with his father serving as a DGP in the Indian Police Service and his mother as an anesthetist at a general hospital.
Subramaniam is a linguist with profound proficiency in four languages: Hindi, English, Tamil, and Malayalam. These language skills have undoubtedly contributed to his global success.
Subramaniam leads a vast conglomerate with an impressive annual revenue of 92 billion USD and a global workforce exceeding 600,000 employees. As the CEO of FedEx, his journey within the company has marked a major milestone. He began his career at FedEx in 1996 and later rose to the position of Vice President of Marketing, Asia Pacific. Following this, was appointed as the Regional President in Canada.
Raj Subramaniam was appointed Senior Vice President at FedEx Services in 2006. He then held the position of President and CEO of FedEx Express and later took up the role of President and COO of FedEx Corporation.
