Binance Board Hires Indian-Americans Rohit Wad and Mayur Kamat
World’s leading crypto trading platform hires ex-Microsoft and Agoda Product execs to bring Web3 to the masses
FREMONT, CA: Binance, one of the largest crypto trading platforms globally, has hired two Indian-American executives, Rohit Wad and Mayur Kamat, to help bring crypto to a broader audience and decrease the barrier to entry for Web3 technology. According to a press statement, Wad, a former Microsoft Corporate VP, and Kamat, a former Agoda VP of Product, will focus on making Web3 services more accessible and useable for common people, as well as encouraging innovation inside the Binance ecosystem. Wad will be responsible for creating scalable, compliant, and speedy Web3 services and solutions as Binance's next CTO. He'll also be in charge of maintaining the exchange's security, stability, and liquidity while adhering to changing regulatory compliance needs in all areas where the platform is offered.
Wad will also concentrate on considerably expanding the engineering team to speed up the company's progress. Kamat will manage all aspects of Binance's product strategy, roadmap, and development as the new Head of Product. He will lead the team in developing products that will increase crypto acceptance and lower the entry barrier to Web3 technology. Kamat remarked on how he spent his entire career focusing on the use of technology to improve people’s lives. Crypto assets are owned by less than ten percent of the addressable internet population. The ultimate goal is to enable Web3 technology to be accessible to the general public by making the product simple enough for anyone in the world to use, including those who are new to it. I'm honored to play a minor part in bringing financial freedom and inclusion to billions of people worldwide.
Wad brings over 30 years of technical and development experience to Binance. Wad worked as an Engineering Director at Facebook and Google before joining Binance and Microsoft. Wad was a crucial contributor to the creation of Microsoft Teams and Skype. Kamat offers 20 years of tech and product experience to Binance. Kamat was previously the Vice President of Products at Agoda, where he was responsible for the company's supply, finance, and marketplace products. He had previously headed product teams at Hiya and Google. Gmail for mobile, Android for Work, Hangouts, Google Voice, and Windows DRM were all developed by Kamat's product team. Binance is the most prominent blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider globally, with a financial product suite that includes the world's largest digital asset exchange by volume.
