Bangalore: Sunita Williams is likely to take Gujarati cuisines on her upcoming mission to space in the month of July. It is the first time some Indian food is making all the way to space!

Sunita’s family is based in Ahmedabad and she says that Gujarati sweets and samosas are something which she love. Her uncle Dinesh Raval, a local Congress leader will be going to U.S. next month, who will be carrying some special Gujarati dishes for Sunita.

Daughter of an Indian American father from Gujarat and a Slovenian mother, Williams is currently making final preparations for a July 14 launch from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, according to a NASA announcement.

She will be a flight engineer on the station's Expedition 32 with Flight Engineers Yuri Malenchenko of the Russian Federal Space Agency and Akihiko Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency. On reaching the space station she will take over as commander of Expedition 33.

Just few days before Sunita was in the news for her plans to adopt a Gujarati girl. She will be visiting Gujarat once again after completing her space expedition for the same.

1: Great news. A better thing for Sunita would be take Narendra Modi to the outer space and then drop him from there so that he can get a bigger picture of the Universe while falling down. This might also win him enough credit to be the next PM of India.
