Sanjay Amin Elected Tri-State FIA Chief

Bangalore: Sanjay Amin, an Indian American IT professional has been appointed as the new president of the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, reports IANS.

Amin was chosen to this prestigious post at the community organisation's annual general meeting which was held the previous weekend at TV Asia Auditorium in Edison, New Jersey. Along with Amin, other people were also elected to the post of office bearers of the association.

Others elected to the executive committee include: Executive Vice President, Sudhir Vaishnav; Vice President, Anand Patel; General Secretary, Srujal Parikh; Treasurer, Ankur Vaidya; and Jt. Secretary: Manjesh Behal.

The former President Kanubhai Chauhan recalled the prominent events which took place in 2012, such as India's Republic Day celebration in the form of the Children Dance Competition 'Dance Pe Chance', the 32d India Day Parade festivities and the Lighting of the Empire State building in New York City on India's Independence Day.

(FIA) of the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, established in the year 1970 is one of the largest umbrella organizations in the Indian community. It represents more than 300,000 strong and vibrant Asian-Indians.
