Marijuana Tweet Costs Indian-American His Job
Bangalore: A Twitter search for marijuana during the work hours has apparently turned disastrous for a mechanic in Canada, after he received an unexpected reply from the police, followed by getting fired, reports The Times of India.
The man lost his job after his boss was alarmed of this post, according to Canadian media.
The post was made under the user name Sunith Baheerathan which read: "Any dealers in Vaughan wanna make a 20sac chop? Come to Keele/Langstaff Mr Lube, need a spliff or two to help me last this open to close (shift)."
The Toronto Police, who keeps a constant check over the Internet and keeps track of everything that goes up, were the first ones to reply on this post and said: "Awesome! Can we come too?"
This post aroused chuckles all over the Internet and has been re-tweeted more than 3,000 times.
Constable Blair McQuillan, from the police department who made the comment on the post said that people must know about monitoring internet and they can be held accountable for what they say on Twitter. The police said that messages which carry morals will not be effective on people on a vast medium like the web, so a better way to remind them is to engage with them.
