Bangalore: Gary Patel, an Indian-American beer distributor and shop owner in Pennsylvania has become a millionaire overnight, an unexpected turning point in his life.

Patel would have never dreamed about the fortune awaiting him when he was selling a lottery ticket, now worth USD 131.5 million. As commission, Patel will receive an amount of $ 100,000, reports PTI.

An official of Pennsylvania Lottery visited Patel’s store and informed him about the jackpot.

“You sold the Powerball ticket? Congrats, Gary!” customer Kim Morfiah said. “Oh, my God, somebody in the ‘hood is rich!”, the customer was quoted as saying by Philly News.

“It’s getting crazy. Uh, I don’t like pictures,” said Patel and he also added that his wife did not believe when he told her about the huge fortune.

“My wife didn’t believe me when I called her. I had to FaceTime her,” he said, referring to the iPhone video-chat feature.

“Then she believed me,” he said.
