Bangalore: Six Indian-Americans are in the race for a seat in the US House of Representatives and according to recent polls and mainstream media three of them have bright chances of winning, reports PTI. Here is a list of 6 Indian Americans contesting in American election, which will be held on 6 November-

Ami Bera

Dr Ami Bera is the Democratic Party candidate from California’s seventh Congressional District, who was endorsed by the former US President Bill Clinton. This seat is one of the most competitive and costliest in America and Bera is closer to victory.

Clinton praised Bera, a physician, for helping middle class families in Sacramento County. He said to an audience of more than 14,000, "You have got Dr Bera, a product of the American dream. A guy who gets into medicine to help other people; a man who believes poor people deserve the same health care that the rest of us get, and believes there are plenty of people who need health care, so medical professionals should worry about giving it to them, rather than controlling women's choices'', reports Aziz Haniffa  of Rediff.

Later on Bera tweeted: "Honored to share the stage with Pres. Clinton. It was a great event!"
