American Association of Physicians of Indian origin (AAPI), will honor India at its 40th annual convention in San Antonio, Texas next month as it celebrates 75 years of India’s Independence

FREMONT, CA: The American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) will commemorate India at its 40th annual convention next month in San Antonio, Texas, in commemoration of India's 75th anniversary of independence. According to an AAPI press release, each day of the June 23-26 conference, co-sponsored by the Embassy of India and the Consulate General of India (CGI) – Houston, will have a specific theme.

Each day at the convention will feature a different theme. The campaign begins with 'Unity in Diversity’ to display one's state dress code to 'Heritage India' which honors and celebrates India's rich cultural diversity. Following that, prominent Bollywood vocalists Shaan and Mehfil will give special performances. Each day's menu will reflect the topic chosen for that day. On June 25, AAPI will host an In-Person Plenary Session on the India-US Healthcare Partnership with Indian Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya for the first time. The convention chair and AAPI past president remarked on the hard work of the physician members during the pandemic and that this convention is the ideal moment to heal the healers, with a special focus on health. The preview also included the convention's theme, 'Heal the Healers — Rejuvenate And Rekindle Your Mind And Spirits.'

Taking place on San Antonio's colorful and vibrant River Walk, the convention will be held at the newly renovated Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center. Workshops and hands-on workshops on well-being, 10-12 hours of CMEs, Women's Forum, CEOs Forum, 'AAPI Got Talent,' and Alumni and Young Physicians events are just a few of the key events of the conference. Among other events, it will host a Mehfil, Bollywood nite, fashion show, medical jeopardy, abstract poster contest, and exhibitions and sales of jewelry, clothing, medical equipment, pharma, finance, and so on. However, a yoga-based wellness package, meticulously crafted with world-renowned speakers is considered to be the most distinctive aspect of the convention with the potential to transform and inspire every individual.
