It is good to see a minor in this list who has made headlines along with the grownups and that too by emerging as the fifth consecutive Indian-American winner of the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee competition in the U.S. This voracious reader rose to fame and victory by defeating eight other finalists and considers the triumph as a miracle. She received an amount of $30,000 in cash, a trophy, a $2,500 savings bond and a scholarship of $5,000.
