Mississippi Masala is a romantic drama film by Mira Nair which explores the interracial love between African Americans and Indian Americans in U.S. Denzel Washington, Sarita Choudhury, and Roshan Seth plays the lead characters and the film turned out to be a blockbuster collecting $7,310,000 USD at the box office. Mira Nair won the ‘silver ribbon award’ for the best director’ by the Italian National Syndicate of Film Journalists and was honoured with much other recognitions at the Venice Film Festival.
