Bangalore: Shazam, an online music discovery app, has rolled out a new Windows Phone 8 app. The move comes as Shazam, which currently has over 300-million users all over the world wants to expand its line of services in different operating systems. It is one of the most popular apps on Google Android and Apple iOS.

Shazam's app allows the user to discover, explore and share music and television programs. Earlier the app had a version of Windows Phone, but supported only Windows Phone 7.x devices. This latest update will allow the Windows Phone 8 users to join the Shazam's club which allows users to enjoy the song along with watching the lyrics. They can also tag their favorite artists and TV shows and comment on the musical discoveries with Facebook friends and Twitter followers.

The new update also allows users to integrate with Microsoft’s Xbox Music and Nokia Music digital stores. And for those who prefer Xbox Music to iTunes or Google Play, this update is very useful.

The Shazam app also has a free version for Windows Phone 8 users, which they can download through their Windows Phone app store.
