One staggering statistic is that over 300,000 apps have been developed in the last three years—more than 100,000 per year (which would mean more than 8,300 applications were developed every month). But what’s even more astonishing is that these apps were downloaded about 10.9 billion times.

Almost everybody (98 percent of the people in the data) used their phones at home, and 89 percent of people with mobile phones used them while travelling. 79 percent of people used their phones while shopping, and just under three-fourths of mobile phone users had sent a text or browsed on their phones. Compared to these percentages, the least number of people used their phones while using public transport.
