Google challenges Wikipedia with Knowledge Graph, a database of facts about over 500 million topics. So when you search for anything from a person to a topic, Google will bring you the results, usually as a snapshot powered by its knowledge graph thus avoiding the need for an extra click to enter Wikipedia.
