Facebook To Pocket More Users With Its New App Centers

A Move Aiming Expansion

This move is a part of Facebook’s expansion plan. The company has observed that more than 80 percent of its monthly users are from outside the U. S. and Canada. Thus the company plans to expand its market place to more countries soon, including Brazil, France, Germany, Russia, Spain, Taiwan and Turkey, in addition to the places where the App Center is already available.

Facebook wants the names of the apps to be translated, aiming at the non-English speaking users. Moreover most of the apps are created by developers from countries other than the U. S. Thus,  the company has asked the developers to submit their translated apps to the App Center review team before July 13. For this purpose Facebook has also added a localization tool to the App Dashboard that would allow these developers to translate the names and descriptions of their apps into other languages.
