Amiteshwar Seth, Head of Data Management Services, Infosys Technologies, Vijay Anand V R, Global CTO Machine to Machine Technology, Innovation Evangelist, Logica & Lalithakishore Narayanabhatla, Principal Software Engineer, CA Technologies Shared their thoughts on Managing data at enterprise level.

Amit who concentrated on developing and maintaining data warehouse systems said that Data is growing rapidly and petabyte size databases are becoming uncommon across industry verticals. A fresh perspective is required to manage data, techniques used today such as sharding, hardware based solutions, all have limitations.

On the same lines Vijay focused on M2M/IOT and said that It is expected that M2M/IOT will cover billions of devices in the near future, which translates into humungous volumes of data being exchanged over the internet and equal demands over storage, retrieval and analysis.

Lalith who focused on Hand on In-memory Process said Almost all the Vendors in the marketsay- SAP, Oracle, Teradata includes some combination of in-memory, column databases, appliances, In-DB calculations, map-reduce-type algorithms, and combining operations and analytics in their vision.

Speaking on Enterprise backup, Shankar Balasubramaniam, Architect, EMC Backup & Recovery Systems said that "De-duplication has remarkably changed the landscape of enterprise backup by providing an extremely competitive solution in terms of cost and performance when compared with tape based solutions.

Prasanna Ram, Enterprise Mobile Architect, Capgemini expressed importance of Mobile Application for Enterprise as Understand the business, Evolve why the business needs to be mobile enabled; could be Strategic, Tactical or Operational, Remember ROI is not always measurable monetarily Focus on user experience, Always make mobile apps actionable.
