Yahoo's New Young CEO: Merissa Mayer Over The Years

Bangalore: Yahoo announced its 3rd new CEO in the past 10 months on 16th July. Marissa Mayer, who was Google’s first female engineer, takes over from the interim CEO Ross Levinsohn.  Struggling Yahoo fired Carol Bartz over the phone in September 2011. Tim Morse took over as interim CEO until Scott Thomson was given the charge, after a four-month search. He also got fired within 2 months after it was found that he lied on his resume. Ross Levinsohn became the interim Chief Executive and was considered by many as the perfect one to hold the post permanently.

It came as a shock when Yahoo boldly hired Mayer who has been in Google since 13 years. Hoping to get back to what Yahoo was a few years back it needed a product person. Mayer has a great product management experience in Yahoo’s competitor and an intense work ethic. So, she could be the right choice. Let’s have a look on the career graph of Yahoo’s new young CEO.
