Yahoo Acquires Startup To Bring Indian On Board

Bangalore: Yahoo has acquired Jibe, a company that made app for the mobile users that gave personalized recommendations on food and entertainment, in a bid to get the talents on board. The company announced about acquisition on Wednesday via its corporate blog post.

Jybe is a startup founded in 2011 by three ex-Yahoo! employees, including Arnab Bhattacharjee, who was VP of Yahoo! Search Technology when he departed the company. Arnab and some others left Yahoo following Carol Bartz, the former CEOs decision that turned the responsibility for providing most of Yahoo's search results to Microsoft.

Arnab joined Yahoo! in March 2003, through the company’s acquisition of Inktomi, the company that offered software solutions for Internet service providers, where he was leading the search webmap team.
