Xbox And PC Games Coming Soon On iOS And Android

Bangalore: There’s a good news for game geeks who missed PC  and  Xbox games on their iOS and Android devices, as  Microsoft will soon offer them on the two popular mobile platforms. The company is to tie up with Japanese Smartphone game maker Klab for the purpose, reports Nikkei via Reuters.

Klab, through a licensing deal with Microsoft, is said to be working on the project to transcribe Xbox and Windows based games to work on mobile platforms Android and iOS. One of the first games to get a transformation is “Age of the Empires,” and it will be made available as a free-to-play game worldwide on Smartphones by the end of fiscal year 2013 and soon other titles to follow the route.

While quite a few android games and apps like Temple Run 2 and WhatsApp have already made it to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 platform, many of the Xbox and PC games remain elusive on iOS and Android. So the Microsoft’s decision to take their games to the other Smartphone devices offers a chance for large number of users to enjoy the games.

"Today, KLab announced a licensing agreement with Microsoft Corp. to develop a mobile version of Microsoft Studio's 'Age of Empires' franchise, which will be initially developed in English for iOS and Android and launched globally, with plans to release the game in other languages and on Windows Phone in the future," a Microsoft spokesperson said to CNET. "Some reports included incorrect information about additional Xbox Live-based games on iOS and Android but there are no further announcements beyond 'Age of Empires' at this time," he added.
