World-Changing Shopping Apps on The Rise

Shoppers are already delighted about connecting better with brands they spend a fortune on. "It is nice to see efforts being made to reach out to Indian shoppers on home turf," said Malika Mittal, a 35 year-old Delhi-based banker who finds herself spending money on expensive items regularly.

Home-grown brands are also experimenting with the live feel. Designer Ritu Kumar's app has virtual clothes for users to try different outfits on his or her picture and also browse through latest collections, shop online, and locate the nearest stores.

OCM Suitings, owned by U.S.-based investment company WL Ross, has created a virtual trial room for people to have a look at available fabrics and styles.

Nitin Jain, Managing Director of OCM said "The plan is to connect it with the e-commerce portal by Diwali to drive sales."
