Why Indian Smartphone Brands Gaining Over Apple And Samsung

Bangalore: Indian Smartphone brands are giving tough competition to the international brands including Samsung, Apple, Nokia, Sony, and others. The latest numbers from IDC says it all.

The South Korean Smartphone maker noticed a fall to 26 percent market share in Q2 from 32 percent in Q1. It is facing tough competition from Indian brands like Micromax and Karbonn. Micromax turned out to be the biggest challenger to Samsung with nearly 22 percent of market share in Q2, up from 19 percent in Q1. Karbonn is at number three with 13 percent.

The remaining 29 percent of the Indian Smartphone market is controlled by ‘Others’ including international fame Apple and native brands like Celkon, Intex and Lava Mobiles.

Clearly, the Indian brands, who were often accused of recycling Chinese phones, are gaining over their international counterparts. But how? Apparently, there are three reasons behind this scenario, reports First Post.
