Mitchell Baker

Open-Sourcing the Internet

Mitchell is honored in the “Innovator” category. She is the chairperson of the Mozilla foundation and has played a big role in legitimizing the open source internet applications including Mozilla Thunderbird and Mozilla Firefox browser. Being instrumental in Netscape’s decision to release its source code to the public, Baker has gone on to become one of the most influential Open Source advocates in the world.

Linus Torvalds

Linux O.S

Linus Torvalds created the Linux Operating System (Linux Kernel). After developing the first one, he made it into an open source O.S. by uploading it into the web and we know what happened later- Thousands of programmers contributed into the Linux Kernel and it is now one of the best open source platforms.
