Bangalore: Companies founded by Indians are getting acquired by tech-giants of Silicon Valley in numbers. After TxVia’s much hyped acquisition by Google, Tagtile, another company found by a pair of Indians, got acquired by Facebook over undisclosed financial terms. Facebook has acquired all the assets of Tagtile and offered the employees of Tagtile to join Facebook.

Tagtile, founded by IITian from India Abheek Anand and Soham Mazumdar, designs customer loyalty mobile application for various small and medium scale businesses. The company provides Tagtile hardware kits to these businesses and free applications to the customers which can be operated on iOS and Android Platforms. The hardware kit consists of a stylish Tagtile cube that is activated by tapping your phone on it. The package helps the businesses to connect with and understand their customers in a better way and attract them to their stores with gift coupons and exciting offers generated via the Tagtile application.

The CEO and Co-Founder of Tagtile, Abheek Anand is an IITian and heads the company’s Marketing and Engineering teams. Abheek is a highly experienced developer and has worked for Product Management in companies like Engine Yard and VMware. The other Co-Founder and Head of Productions of Tagtile, Soham Mazumdar is also an IITian and had previously worked in Google data mining projects for six years. The pair of developers will have a great part to play in Facebook’s big step towards converging social networking with e-commerce.

The duo is excited to take offices at Facebook and believes that the acquisition is a huge opportunity for Tagtile to grow in the global market. “We are joining Facebook and won’t be taking any new customers as of today. We’ll be reaching out to customers directly once the future plans are set”, said the management of Tagtile, confirming the acquisition. Meanwhile, Facebook considers Tagtile as a priced acquisition and says, “We're happy to confirm that Tagtile’s founders are joining Facebook, and that Facebook is acquiring substantially all of the company's assets. We've admired the engineering team's efforts for some time now and we're excited to have them join Facebook."
