Smart Namo- The Narendra Modi Branded Android Smartphone


Bangalore: The Android Smartphone, smart NAMO, is likely to drive your desire to own a Smartphone while the person whom the device monikers is likely on is to drive National Democratic Front (NDA) in 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

A group of Gujarati businessmen who runs electronic Smartphone business in China are planning to launch the Android phone called “smart NAMO,” which is named after Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's nickname among his young supporters. “NAMO”stands for Narendra Modi and also Next generation Android Mobile Odyssey. The group is planning to get CM’s permission to use his signature in all the Namo branded Smartphones.

Ameet Desai, the spokesperson for smart NAMO, said that they got the idea from China where the gadgets like MP3 players and Smartphones are branded with the leader s’ names. The group is planning to set up a production unit in Gujarat soon and they will finalize the design of the Smartphones once they get approval from Modi.  At launch, the devices will have a price tag of 16,000, and there will also be the feature phones for a price as low as 1000.

The Smartphones will be available in different versions, with 1 GB RAM coupled with 16 GB ROM, and 2 GB RAM coupled with 16, 32, and 64 GB ROM. All these versions will share the similar features like, 5 inch IPS display with full HD (1920x 1080) pixels resolution, which will have Gorilla Glass 2 protection; a 1.5GHz quad-core Mediatek chipset; Android 4.2; dual-SIM functionality; 13MP camera and a 2500 mAh battery.
