BANGALORE: Rajeev Suri, The new Chief Executive Officer of Nokia has prioritized five areas for the company to look forward to and said that the company has to move on from its past, reports economic times.

Suri was the CEO of Nokia Solutions and Networks since 2009 and was rewarded for getting the company out of loss by restructuring the Nokia’s Networks division. His appointment comes after the Finnish handset maker sold its handset division to Microsoft. Nokia’s biggest unit is the Solutions and Networks, now called the Networks, makes telecom equipments and manages the networks.

Apparently, Nokia along with exploring new opportunities through the research and development, it plans to grow on the patents for developing the technology and licensing the HERE maps service and technologies associated with it.

According to Suri, his primary focus is on the HERE maps, where he would like to know about the business and technology division of it and secondly to develop a plan to go from vision to execution.

"As part of this, Networks needs to turn its new strategy into a bolder financial plan; Technologies must prioritize its efforts while not missing a beat in leveraging our strong patent portfolio; and HERE must ensure that our heavy investment is set to deliver the right returns," said Suri.

Thirdly, it is to develop a ‘system’ that can be applied to the company and any possible future acquisitions which include the performance management, cost management models and many more.

Fourthly, recognizing a common culture across all the businesses, and lastly to focus on running the day to day business without missing their targets. “This is not the time for any of the businesses to miss their plan, as the world is watching us and trying to decide if we are up to the task ahead. Let's deliver the excellent results that make the answer to that question resoundingly clear," he said.
