Microsoft Waves Green Flag For Windows 8 App Store Submissions
Bangalore: It’s like kaleidoscopic view of the tech-world in recent times; be it launch of iPhone5, windows mobiles, and now Windows 8.
Windows 8 is a promise by Microsoft assuring ‘new experience’ to the users with its array of changes in OS. A New graphical user interface (GUI), where the desktop comes alive with colorful mélange of live tiles displaying apps like, weather, maps, finance, games, and many more widgets. The ‘App Store’, can make things a lot easier and newer too. Are we in for a revolution?
Ahead of Windows 8 release date, which is slated on October 26, 2012; Microsoft is leaving no stone unturned for a raging launch and success of its new OS. It can be clearly understood as Microsoft opened up its gates for ‘App Store’ submissions, only too ready to get flooded with submission markets which now totals to 120, and counting. Microsoft senior vice president Antoine Leblond writes in a post to the Windows Store for Developers blog. “The Store is now open for app submissions from all developers – individuals and companies – in our supported markets, and we’ve added 82 more app submission markets! Now, developers from 120 markets can publish Windows Store apps.” a great treat for geeks.
Developers interested in submitting new Windows 8 apps, should visit the Windows Store Dashboard to sign up, reserve apps names, and configure their accounts. Remember that the Windows 8 developer tool—which includes Visual Studio Express for Windows 8, Blend for Visual Studio 2012, and more—are free, and that Microsoft provides exhaustive documentation for building and designing new Windows Store apps at the Windows Dev Center.
And developers will be rewarded as for a Microsoft official statement “for the interest and commitment the developers show, we providing all eligible Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) subscribers with a free, one-year Windows Store developer account as part of their MSDN benefits.” Microsoft's DreamSpark program for students also waives the Microsoft Store subscription fee.
Come October 26; and the magic begins.
