Thus the total number of telephone users, also including the landline users, registers a growth of 0.84 %, i.e., 960.90 million. Now the increase in the overall tele-density in India would be 79.28 percent.

TRAI statistics also provides the total number of subscribers of individual service providers. Data by sectoral regulator, TRAI says that Bharti Airtel stood at 185.3 million, reliance Communications at 154 million, Idea Cellular at 115.97 million and Vodafone at 152.5 million. Whereas, Uninor reached at 45 million and Aircel at 64.4 million. Even Tata Teleservices has overcome the loss of 0.51 million users showed in April  by pulling in 0.3 million new users in the next month.

Meanwhile, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) lost 81,809 and 1,71,951 users respectively to go down with only 97.7 million and 5.6 million users.
