Indian ITs Lead MNCs with Business Deals


BANGALORE: The spectacular growth of the Indian IT firms in the last decade is remarkable with world wide expansions. In the last few years they have posed a threat to many MNC's around the globe for major deals that once was a dream for Indian outsourcing companies. The trends are changing and especially this year, Indian IT companies have won major deals out racing their MNC competitors.

The biggest deals that were won by Indian IT companies are from European companies. Wipro has won major deals from Australia and countries from Europe. Wipro won a deal from Corning, a ceramics company. Wipro also won a $100 million IT infrastructure management services deal from a Netherlands media company called Sanoma. It also got a deal from Takeda Pharmaceuticals from Japan which is worth $400 million.

TCS and Cognizant have been doing better than IBM or Capgemini and the biggest rival Accenture. These two companies along with Infosys, Wipro and HCL will be fighting over a $100 billion outsourcing contracts which will be up for renewal this year.

Infosys won a $100 million from Microsoft. They will also be looking to win some of the outsourcing contracts that will be on renewal this year. Infosys has witnessed huge incremental revenue growth this year.

From reports TCS, HCL, Wipro, Infosys and Cognizant have posed a great challenge on their MNC counterparts for deals that already make Indian IT firms a favorite over their foreign counterparts. In the last five years the shares of Indian IT companies have doubled from, 7.7 per cent to 14.3 percent this year.

In the recent quarterly reports 26 deals were available out of which 11 were from Europe and IBM and Wipro have had four deals in cloud services, where IBM won three and Wipro won one. Apart from SMAC deals, there is an expected growth in banking, financial services and insurance in the next quarterly.
