Bangalore: The social networking giant, Facebook, is hosting an event on April 4 in Silicon Valley to showcase its “new home on Android.” Speculations about Facebook are rife and currently it is said that the company may unveil the ‘Facebook phone’, a Smartphone running on Android, Google’s mobile operating system.

According to Techradar report, EVLeaks tweeted the first image of the Facebook phone which is claimed to be known as ‘HTC First’. It is rumored that the device will have a heavily customized version of Android, similar to how Amazon furnished the Kindle tablets.

It is said to have a 4.3-inch touchscreen that supports 720p videos and runs on dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Other rumored features include a 5MP camera, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with HTC Sense 4.5 and deep Facebook integration.

Earlier, HTC came up with two Smartphones; Chacha and Salsa which had featured Facebook hardware keys. The ‘Facebook Phone’ may help the social network better monetize its mobile platform.
