Google Play Movies Now Available In India

Bangalore: Soon after the unveiling of Google Play Books, the search engine giant has now expanded the purchase service and movie rentals, Google Play Movies, to the Indian market as well as to Mexico, according to NDTV.

The Store has a collection of both Hindi and English films. Besides, certain HD films as well as movies can be rented for as low as 50 and can be purchased for a minimum of 190.

The movies section has been made live on the mobile and web versions of Google play and users can install the Play Movies app on their Android device which enables to download, watch and manage movies they have purchased or rented.

Movies can be streamed over 3G or Wi-Fi through Play store on a device or on a computer by googling-it on a browser. In order to view offline, users can download movies to their Android device via Play Movies app. The purchased movies and TV shows can be downloaded on five devices at a time, while movie rentals can be downloaded to one device at a time and when downloaded, streaming of the movie will be disabled on the user’s computer and other devices. If a person removes the download of the movie rental on the device, it gets re-enabled for streaming or for downloading onto additional devices.

Since some titles are cheaper and others priced higher, it is kind of difficult to compare Google Play Movies with Apple iTunes. Surprisingly, Google started selling its Nexus 7 tablet in the Indian market through the Google Play store.
