Facebook's 5 Most Controversial Lawsuit Settlements

Bangalore: The multi billionaire IPO has seldom stayed clean of controversies. Somehow Facebook has been losing a huge chunk of its billions of dollars in controversial lawsuits for all the mischievous stuffs the company does with its terabytes of user information.

Misusing the control over user privacy settings to carelessness in handling users and advertisement schemes, the social networking company has acted like a lawsuit magnet right since its foundation in 2004. Many websites like Wall Street Journal and PCMag have pages of articles and news that talk about all the judicial mishaps that Facebook has ever encountered.

Check out how Facebook is always stuck in doing the cleaning up.

1. Sponsored Stories Settlement

This is probably due to the funniest algorithm that Facebook has implemented in its multi billion social network. In case some one has posted something about any particular product or service, the Sponsored Stories tab on the Facebook will start displaying advertisements with the particular person’s profile picture as the display image of the advertisement. Facebook had to settle a similar lawsuit filed against it by Nick Bergus in May 2012 for about $10 Million. The Sponsored Stories tab started showing that Nick is interested in Passion Natural Water-Based Lubricant, after he had posted something relevant to a similar product.
