Apple's Most Unsuccessful Products

Macintosh Portable: Apple’s first portable laptop was released back in 1989 and was one of a kind back then. It was battery powered computer which also is the main reason why the product went off the shelves.

The problem with the battery is that once it cannot hold the charge anymore then you have no back up so it won’t reboot. The display of the laptop was also not the best grade so it would keep failing regularly. It was rated as one of the worst tech products of all time.

Newton PDA: The earliest messaging pad or personal digital assistance as it was known was developed by Apple. It was usually preloaded with software applications and also featured handwriting recognition software.

It ran on an ARM 610 RISC, with some of the units being manufactured by Motorola as well. The iPad is believed to be the revival of the Newton PDA which runs on the present iOS system software.  It was scrapped after 11 years of being in the market.

Pippin: The Bandai Pippin was a multimedia technology console built to run CD based multimedia software mostly games, but also worked as a network computer.

Bandai sold out only 42,000 units hence discontinued the product. It was the first stab hand game consoling device released but was later listed in the ‘worst tech products of all time’ survey.
