Bangalore: The tech giant, Apple is geared up for a possible summer launch of the next iPhone, rather than a fall launch like the last two models, as per the reports of The Wall Street Journal.

Besides, the company is also working on a cheaper iPhone device that could possibly win some market share in developing countries, cited unnamed people “familiar with the device’s production.”

The iPhone 5 costs around $600, while Apple maintains older iPhones in production, even they aren’t cheap enough to compete effectively against low-end Smartphones running on Google’s Android software.

Apple hardly comments on future products before its launch and the company executives emphasize on the company’s goal to make the best products, and not cheaper ones. Reports also cited that Apple is all-set to start production of the new iPhone within the next three months. Apparently, the company is relying on the sources among the Asian companies as they supply the components for the phone and assemble it.
