John Rigas, Adelphia

Adelphia Communications Corporation was one of the largest cable TV companies in the U.S. before it went bankrupt. John Rigas, the CEO his family own business along with his sons and some executives were found guilty in 2002 for looting the corporation by concealing $2.3 billion in liabilities from corporate investors and for using corporation funds as their personal funds. In 2005, Rigas was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment and his son was sentenced to serve 20 years. Later, a federal judge cut three years off the term and he is now in North Carolina federal prison.
