Kozmo

Kozmo, which promised the delivery of everything- books to movies- in an hour, with no minimum purchase and no tipping attracted many investors. After finishing a large round of funding, the company filed for its IPO on March 2000.

But with an investigation which revealed: In the cities it serves, the company does not offer delivery to many neighborhoods with high concentrations of black residents- Kozmo shelved its IPO plans. Even though the company denied it, by April 2001, it called it quits.
