#12 Sony

Once the poster child of Japan's innovative streak, Sony has been faring badly due to poor sales of its products. The company posted a loss in the seventh consecutive quarter in the earnings for the July-September quarter.

Its flagship Walkman series of music players stand no longer in race with Apple’s iPod. Its movie production house, Sony Pictures, is doing badly. And the company is to announce job cuts this year. However in this seemingly depressive scenario, the company yet enjoys success in its Play Station portals.
