10 Biggest Flops in Tech 2012

9. Mac Attacked With Trojan Flashback

The urban legend about Mac being impervious to virus attacks has been proven false, courtesy Flashback, a Trojan that affected over 600,000 Mac Books. It arrived masked as an Adobe Flash update and still affects over 140,000 computers.

It is considered as the largest Mac malware threat till date. Compared to the massive Conficker and Botnet (Worms) for Windows PCs, Flashback compromised a larger percentage of Mac computers.

Apple had to face criticism for being quick to point the security of Mac OSX but being very slow to address security problems.
