Bangalore: India undoubtedly is one of the biggest tech hubs in the world. It is home for big names in tech like Google, Microsoft, Infosys and others. But then, which of these tech companies are popular with Indian populous, so much so that, they ultimately want to be part of them?

In a recent survey carried by Nielsen, a global measurement and information provider, most of the engineering students in India wanted to end up in the IT industry and only few tech companies have made it to their wish list.

# 10 NTPC

NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation) is India's largest power company. It was set up in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. It is emerging as an ‘Integrated Power Major’, with a significant presence in the entire value chain of power generation business.

NTPC ranked 337th in the ‘2012, Forbes Global 2000’ ranking of the World’s biggest companies.

With an electric power generating capacity of 40,674 MW, NTPC has embarked on plans to become a 75,000 MW company by 2017 and to become a 128,000 MW company by 2032.
