ZipDial Raises Funds From Jungle Ventures, Launches in Sri Lanka
Bangalore: Bangalore based Zipdial Mobile Solutions which also launched its services in Sri Lanka has received an undisclosed amount in funding from Jungle Ventures.
Founded in 2010 by three technology entrepreneurs namely Valerie Rozycki Wagoner, Sanjay Swami and Amiya Pathak , Zipdail is a mobile startup that creates engagement with traditional media like print and television using missed calls. It is a toll free service where the calls get disconnected after a ring and the user receives an SMS response. It is being used in ad campaigns, brand endorsements and polls.
This investment to the firm has come as a quick succession to the previous one which was by American seed investor 500 startups. In the same period, Times Internet had also invested an undisclosed amount in the firm. Mumbai Angels, another leading investor had also put in
3.5Cr in mid 2011.
“The funding comes as a booster. With the latest launch of ZipDial in Sri Lanka we are now targeting Philippines and Indonesia for further expansion. The procured funds would be primarily used for quick market penetration in Asia,” said Valerie to SiliconIndia.
The firm has over 400 million consumer engagements and clients include Hindustan Unilever, P&G, Puma and Disney. It has also extended toward the Caribbean with clients such as Pepsi and KFC. The company has plans to launch services in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines and Nigeria, later this year.
Jungle Ventures is a Singapore based capital firm founded in 2010 that provides early stage investments to startups. Asian entrepreneurs and tech executives came together to form this company with an aim to support the strategic growth of investee companies.
Jungle Ventures had previously invested in Mobikon and raised 10 Million new Asia focused Super Angel Fund.
